The District Education Office is the office, which imparts education
to all age below (14) years. District Education Officer is the Head of the Department, who
will hold the entire academic monitoring from 1st Class to 10th
Class and administrative control of educational institutions up to 10th Class.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES :
- To achieve 100% enrolment in 5-14 age group
children
- To ensure 100% retention i.e. who are enrolled in
the school.
- To reduce the dropout rate.
- To improve the quality of education and results of
VII & X Class.
- Provide schooling facility to every habitation.
STARTING OF NEW PRIMARY SCHOOLS
:
The Govt. have sanctioned (416) new
Primary Schools in school less habitations in the district during this academic year
2001-02 vide G.O.Ms.No.62 Edun.,Dated. 26-05-2001. Out of these (20) are Urdu medium
schools. They all are opened by engaging Vidya Volunteers. (396) Secondary Grade Teachers
Telugu Medium (20) and Secondary Grade Urdu Medium Posts have been sanctioned posts
are to be filled by the DSC-2001 candidates.
UPGRADATION OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS
INTO UPPER PRIMARY SCHOOLS
The Govt. have also permitted
to upgrade (109) Primary Schools into Upper Primary Schools by opening Class VI TM
during this academic year 2001-02 in the district vide G.O.Ms.No.63 Edn., Dated 26-05-2001
and they are functioning for these schools.
AUDIO VISUAL EDUCATION :
The Govt. has decided to provide
Audio Visual Education to the students for improving of grasping power and intellectuality
for which the Government has provided TVs.,V..C.Ps and R.C.C.Ps to the District for
development of Primary Education.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION :
The Government of Andhra
Pradesh has introduced Vocational Education Scheme during the year 1985-86 in the (15)
Secondary Schools in the district.
(07) Vocational Educational Trades
are being run in the above 15 Secondary Schools and around 5931 students are being
benefited in the trades. |
EDUCATION GUARANTEE SCHEME:
The State Project Director,
DPEP.,A.P.,Hyderabad has communicated G.O.Ms.No. 52 Education Department dated.20.04.2001
for implementation of Education Guarantee Scheme and Alternative and Innovation Education
in Nalgonda. As per the guide lines of the G.O.district level committee has been
constituted with the following members to receive and review the proposals emanating in
the district under the Chairmanship of the District Collector.
VIDYA VOLUNTEERS:
As per the instructions of
Commissioner & Director of School Education, A.P., Hyderabad total (1489)Vidya
Volunteers engaged by the School Education Committees in their respective Schools as
against the district requirement of (1904) Vidya Volunteers during the Academic year
2001-02.
OPEN SCHOOLS:
Open School Scheme has been
introduced in the year 1997-98 in Nalgonda District.The basic aim of the scheme is to
provide alternate system of education to the dropouts who have missed the benefits of
Formal Schooling.
- Trimester system of learning (10 months in a
academic year 3 Trimesters)
The passed learners in Stage-II(S2) and
Stage-III(S3) are admitted in 7th & 8th Class in formal Schools.
Study Centres are identified, where 20-30 learners
available in a village
A.P.Open School Society, Hyderabad
has sanctioned (150)Open Schools Centres during the academic year 2001-02. Out of (150)
Centres, (138) study centers are opened in (54) Mandals. (87) Cluster centers are
identified for the conduct of contact Classes and Trimester Examinations to the learners. |
CHILD LABOUR RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLSThe child labour survey was conducted at village level by the teachers and name
wise lists of never enrolled, drop-out, working children prepared and read out in
Janmabhoomi Program. Lists are available with the Head Masters and Mandal Education
Officers concerned. The village wise campaigns were conducted for enrolment.Non-Government
Organizations meetings were conducted to run the bridge course centers one for each
Mandal. |

The District Sports Authority, Nalgonda is the agency to organise
various programmes to encourage sports persons who are enthusiastic in games / sports.
The DSA is imparting regular coaching to
bring out the talented sports persons as per the guidelines of the Sports Authority,
Hyderabad. |

| ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE PLAYERS FROM OUR DISTRICT |
1. P. Janakamma of Miryalguda has represented the AP in the discipline
of Kabadi in National Games
held at Manipur during the year 1999. The AP Team secured Gold Medal in
this tournament.
2. Mr. S. Mattam Raju of Miryalaguda has
represented Rest of India in the discipline of Kho-Kho in Nataji
Subhas International Gold Cup tournaments held at Hyderabad
during January, 1999.
3. Mr. M. Abhinav from Kodad has secured
Gold Medal in the Asian Youth Chess Championship Under
10 years category held at Tehran, Iran during April, 2000. |

1. Outdoor Stadium at Nalgonda
An Outdoor Stadium has been constructed at Nalgonda in the year 1999 and it began
functioning from 28.1.2000 . The stadium is equipped with all the facilities which enable
the players to participate in different games and sports. The stadium is having one
pavillion and two gallaries which can accomodate 1500 spectators at a time. |

The Indoor Stadium was constructed behind the Nalgonda Town Hall. This Stadium is having

| NEW SPORTS POLICY - 2000 |
The Govt. of AP has introduced new sports policy as part of Vision-2020. Accordingly, it
is proposed to conduct combined tournaments from village level to State level for the
identification of best of the talence. The government. has issued orders to all
Educational Institutions to provide play ground facilities to play at least 3 games. In
this regard, the Sports Authority, Hyderabad is introducing refresher courses to all
Physical Directors & Physical Educational Teachers in the usage of instruments for
dissemination of sports knowledge and training to all Physical Directors & Physical
Education Teachers.

2. AP State Combined Tournaments in Hockey
(Under 17 & 19) for boys and girls conducted at Nalgonda during November, 2000.

to the State Level Combined Tournments in the month of November, 2000. |
